Laem Tong is fairly quiet and remote. This quality is granted because it is located along the northern edge of the island. This is a rather remote location.
There are 4 resorts in prime location on Laem Tong Phi Phi Island: Phi Phi Natural Resort, Zeayola Resort, Holiday Inn Phi Phi Island, and PP Erawan Palms Resort. Each resort is located on the eastern beach of the peninsula. This allows the gentle northern breezes to cool down tourists in the hot summer, but protects tourists from the violent summer winds from the west.
Laem Tong lying to the north of the island is the former home of sea gypsies; the beach is remarkably splendid. Here, visitors can hire a boat for snorkeling or diving. This Sea Gypsy Village is a collection of tin roof dwellings closely packed
together, sandwiched between the Holiday Inn Phi Phi Island Restaurant of Chaba Seafood and the PP Erawan Resort; Solo Bar. You can walk to Loh Ba Gao which takes about 30 minutes one way depending on your stride and the walk features breathtaking views of the cliffs at Lannah Bay and Nui bay.
